From Pastor Bryan:
Zoom is a pretty amazing technology. Anyone who had zoom stock before this crisis is doing pretty well right now! If you haven’t used it, all you need to do is select the link for our worship meeting. The first time you use it you’ll need to download the program on your computer or phone. That won’t take long but give yourself a few minutes ahead of time. Then just follow the prompts.
We should be able to interact a bit and pray together using Zoom. We’ll feel our way into it and we’ll be patient with each other. The first few times people use it can be a little awkward but don’t be intimidated by it. It’s easy.
The meeting is going to start at 9:45 a.m. which means you can join then and actually just hang out a bit with each other as people sign in. This extra 15 minutes will be kind of like a virtual gathering in our fellowship hall before worship. I’ll jump in at 10 a.m. and officially start the worship service then. Feel free to let friends and family know about about this way of worshiping together. They are welcome to join us even if they live far away of course, and that’s kind of cool. All they need is the meeting link which you’ll find at the top of this page and also on the home page of our website.
Some Prayer and Practice Meetings
We are all going to need to figure out how to balance our lives in this time of virtual communication and so much “screen time.” I don’t want to overwhelm you with online meetings. BUT, I think we’ll need to embrace the Zoom meeting format and use it to pray together and stay grounded in spiritual practices. We’re going to try having Bible Study online this coming Sunday starting at 11:45 a.m. The zoom link for Bible study is at the top of this page and on our home page. In the weeks to come we’ll have some daily prayer meetings and also the Midweek Inhale. I think we can do those using Zoom. Let’s try and see how it goes.
Okay that’s all from me for now!
Grace and Peace to you all, and “see” you Sunday!
