Families who often count on a subsidized school lunch to make ends meet sometimes have to scramble to cover their children's midday meal and childcare during the summer.
During June, we joined other local congregations in gathering items for McFarland students in need. Our food and toy donations joined the items collected at Christ the King Parish, and we filled 25 colorful bags the morning of June 29th.
What was in each bag?? One bag had tuna, mac and cheese, peanut butter, canned fruit, and Oreos, for example. Each bag also had a book and a toy tucked inside! Next month bags will be packed at Christ the King Parish on July 28th. Our effort Was awesome! Feel free to bring items to church for this project all summer.
