Join the campaign to end child separation at the border.
Our government has separated hundreds of immigrant children from their parents upon arriving at the border. These families are often fleeing horrific violence and crippling poverty, and parents are doing everything they can to protect their children by coming to the United States. Originally called “Not in Our Name”, we voiced our opposition to the practice of separating families and detaining immigrant children and immigrants of all ages. As “Now in Our Name”, we look to support and collaborate with agencies who work tirelessly to reunite immigrant and refugee children with their parents.
Current FocusWe are currently focused locally on offering support of various kinds to a family from Central America. We will also be hosting an event in late March--either the 25th or 26th--details to come-- featuring "Vote Common Good" (an organization based in the Twin Cities and founded by author, pastor, and activist Doug Pagitt) and their immigration justice bike tour throughout the southern U.S. last fall. The event will feature speakers from immigrant communities that are traveling with the "Vote Common Good" tour.
