Planned Giving

Planned giving is also referred to as gift planning or legacy giving. In a nutshell, it is a donor’s intention to contribute - beyond their lifetime - a major gift to an organization.
 
Planned gift symbolizes the relationship they’ve cultivated with the cause they’ve given to. If anything, it is a desire to help secure the future of the organization. It also represents their commitment to positively impacting communities in actionable ways.
 
Typically Panned Giving is through a WILL or TRUST.
 
If you have any restrictions on how the funds are to spent, please be sure the idea will stand the test of time.  For instance, do not restrict the funds for an organ replacement as future congregations may only want to use a piano.  Unrestricted funds give congregations the most flexibility.
 
Trusts require expert assistance but funds directed to our church via a trust can use similar techniques as a will.  Click below for more information about wills:
