Sunday Morning Ministries
- Readers
- Each worship service there is at least one opportunity to read a passage from scripture, a prayer, or other related reading. Prior to the scheduled worship service, readers are provided the details about what to read and where the reading fits within the service.
- Reading can be done in person or via Zoom.
- Ushers
- The ministry of ushering is an important part of worship because it is one of the most visible ministries in the church. Ushers assist the congregation and pastor by greeting and welcoming all members and guests.
- Ushers serve a role in ensuring the worship service runs smoothly and the sanctuary offers a place conducive for worship. Ushers respond to requests and any special needs or accommodations of those in worship.
- Ushers serve from 9:30-11:15; preference is for 2 persons to greet and usher together.
- Kitchen and Hospitality
- Team members are responsible for preparing beverages and snacks to be served prior to and after each worship service. This includes set up and clean up. The time commitment is from 9:15 am to about 11:30 am. The goal is to have a minimum of two individuals assigned each Sunday.
- Once a month on the first Sunday, in addition to the usual beverage duties, the Kitchen Team is responsible for setting up and serving cake for our monthly birthday celebration.
- Tech Support
- This team provides audio, video and zoom support for worship.
- Volunteers can staff the tech desk (zoom, power point, music videos, audio and video controls) and/or operate the video cameras.
- The goal is to have 3 or 4 teams (of 1-2 tech desk and 1-2 cameras) that will rotate on a regular basis.
- Choir
- The choir rehearses every Sunday morning at 9:00 am with singing for worship planned about once a month.
- The choir is active Fall through Spring (with Summers off).
- All levels of ability and experience are included (being able to read music is not necessary). The only requirement is enthusiasm!
- Communion
- On the 1st Sunday of each month, the Communion Team arrives at 9:15am to make sure bread and juice are ready for Communion Sunday.
- The Communion Team stays after worship service to clean and put away supplies.
- Worship Arts
- This team is responsible for decorating the sanctuary according to the Liturgical Colors, Seasons and sometimes the weekly Lectionary texts. Extra help would be appreciated decorating for the Christmas and Easter season.
- Flower arrangements for the altar table are greatly appreciated during the year. If you wish to have a flower arrangement on display from your garden or for a celebration or remembrance, the Worship Arts team leaders can be contacted to arrange for it to be added to the altar and recognized in the bulletin.
