No Practice Christmas Pageant | December 18, 10 am
Our no-practice pageant takes place in the middle of worship on the Sunday immediately before Christmas. Together, the church tells the beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Each year we find a way to make the story fresh. Join us for everything you love about a pageant (the costumes! the props!) and nothing you don't (say goodbye to endless rehearsals and unintended drama). Everyone has a role - no acting experience required, no memorization either. Speaking parts optional. There is an opportunity everyone to get involved in some way! |
Christmas Eve Worship | December 24th, 7 pm
The Music of Christmas begins at 6:30 pm, offering beautiful musical preludes by piano, vocalists, and the McFarland UCC Brass as people enter the church and begin to find their seats. Worship itself begins at 7 pm, a "candles, carols & communion" service appropriate for all ages. Worried about your child making it through the service? We have an area available with resources for little ones, including soft blocks, picture books, coloring supplies, and rocking chairs. There will be a special pastor's time with the children during the service. We will hear a variety of readings from scripture and contemporary writers. We practice an open communion table - the sacrament is open to all. Bread is gluten-free and the cup holds grape juice. |
Christmas Day Worship | December 25, 10 am
On Christmas morning, feel free to come in your most casual attire - bad Christmas sweaters, cozy clothing or footed pajamas are most welcome! We'll bring our coffee and cocoa into the sanctuary, and have a relaxed, conversation-based worship experience. Expect to sing carols, hear a piece of the story of the infant Jesus that doesn't often come up in our cycle of scripture, and reflect together on what meaning it has for us today. |
