- SUNDAES ON THURSDAYS visioning meeting with community leaders April 8 led to the idea to recruit community organizations as work crews. McFarland House Café is also willing to serve as a rain site for smaller musical groups.
- DINNER CHALLENGE – we received a $500 grant from SW Association UCC & are looking for pairs of people to participate in 1:1 conversations to build understanding & overcome barriers around intense/hot-button issues. We’re looking for people willing to help us try out draft materials.
- CONGREGATIONAL MEETING was scheduled and held on May 7 – The congregation voted to establish a building committee comprised of Geoff Brink, Rick Duchrow, Joan Jacobsen, Gregg Krattiger, Carol Lemke and Farrel Smith, and to proceed with our building project. The Committee is authorized to seek construction loans and spend up to $156,440. Priority projects include sanctuary audio/visual, accessible bathrooms and entrances, new flooring & lighting, kitchen remodeling, and office remodeling. The congregation’s vote delegates the details of decisions within that budget (with a 10% allowance for overage) to the committee, in consultation with SaLT. The scope of the project was determined from proceeds of our recent capital campaign.
